Polarbase were recently contacted by a national leader in the manufacture and supply of premium desserts. They supply many well-known high street retailers and, as part of a multimillion pound investment, needed to expand their freezer storage facility to accommodate for an increase in demand.
The client required a split room modular freezer store, with each compartment operating at different temperatures. The store measured 35 square metres, and was split into two separate rooms, one a freeze and the other a deep freeze. The rooms shared an inner wall and access between them was gained by a heated pallet width sliding door. This ensured that stock could be rotated without leaving the temperature controlled environment.
A key factor behind Polarbase securing the business was our ability to construct the room from PIR panels that the client demanded for insurance purposes. PIR panels, due to their non-flammable properties, are recognised by the insurance industry as being low risk.
Polarbase’s Sales Manager said “Our project team allowed a week for the installation, due to its complexity, and to ensure the new remote refrigeration plant was commissioned and tested fully.”
Split rooms are becoming increasingly popular, with clients realising the increase in efficiency and convenience of having two storage areas combined. We offer a full service for bespoke cold rooms, from initial CAD drawings through to installation, with our ability to respond rapidly and ensure our customers’ exact requirements are matched precisely.
‘The service was great but Tom in particular was fantastic, he always kept me informed’
